Mentoring
Once upon a time, Managers and Superintendents had time to coach and mentor their junior engineers. But those days are long gone, with senior personnel typically now tied up in meetings and other elements. What’s the difference between mentoring and coaching? Well mentoring is speaking from experience, whereas to be a coach you don’t need to have done that role previously. Think of a sports coach, they haven’t had to be a good player previously.
When it comes to mining engineering experience, we have truckloads of it, our two Directors both have over 30 years of experience each. Mentoring is one way to impart those learnings into our younger engineers to assist in the ongoing effectiveness of our industry. Speak to Mark or Glenn if you want to discuss the possibility of growing your engineers in all elements of technical, behavioural and personal development so they are more effective employees.
